Covid Crisis Relief Donation Campaign

IAWW has launched its COVID Crises Relief Campaign aimed at providing relief and rehabilitation efforts for our communities. 
i) Small Business Support: IAWW works with community-based small businesses helping them access relief packages, financial support, deferrals for mortgages, utilities, rent assistance, COVID-focused marketing and mentoring. 
If you are a small business in WA, here is an opportunity for you to apply for relief funds.

Commerce has funded a second round of $10 million in grants to support small businesses with 20 or fewer employees. Grant amounts will not exceed $10,000 total per business and is made possible by the Federal CARES Act. Nonprofits are not eligible for this program.

The application Portal closes October 28, 2020 12:00pm (NOON)

To be eligible for consideration, qualifying small businesses must:

  • Employ 20 or fewer employees
  • Be licensed to do business in Washington State
  • Provide proof that it has been impacted by COVID-19

If selected for an award, a successful business must be able to answer “yes” to the following questions:

  • The expense is connected to the COVID-19 emergency.
  • The expense is “necessary” to continue business operations.
  • The expense is not filling a shortfall in government revenues (i.e. taxes, licenses, state, county, federal and/or city fees).
  • The business will self–attest that the expense is not funded by any other funder, whether private, state or federal.

IAWW is currently providing rent/utility assistance for residents of Redmond, WA and Kirkland, WA.
iii) Homemade Masks: Since March 23rd, 2020, IAWW has donated more than 50,000 cotton reusable masks (thanks to King County, WA and our community volunteers). IAWW volunteer teams have been donating the masks to our services workers, local hospitals, clinics serving low income families, senior living centers, small businesses, waste management workers, shelters, homeless communities, and state health labs testing COVID samples as well as the King County medical Society. iv) Care Packages for Shelters: IAWW volunteers and staff are delivering non perishable food packages and basic sanitation supplies on a weekly basis to our area shelters, pantry packs, and school districts. Contact us: admincoord@iaww.org
v) Information Access: IAWW staff is continuing to provide information on healthcare access, insurance and support services for families and ageing adults. Contatc us: seniorcoord@iaww.org
vi) Mental Health Support: IAWW has ongoing monthly support groups and conversations guided by mental health professionals for – (1) Youth (2) Parents and (3) Ageing adults. We have a resource list of mental health professionals available to also provide one on one service to those that seek such individualized support ion these difficult times. vii) Legal Services: IAWW is continuing to organize weekly legal clinics to provide free consultations on visas, immigration, family law, guardianship and other services. Contact us: legalservices@iaww.org

 

 

 

viii) Ageing Adults:IAWW is providing wellness, strength training classes on digital platforms for our seniors, supportive conversation series,  culturally nuanced support groups, caregiver services and assisting senior families with emergency assistance. Contact us: seniorcoord@iaww.org

x) Early Childhood Enrichment & Family Services: IAWW offers weekly sessions for families with newborns and toddlers to 5 years, opportunities for enrichment, developmental screening, and early interventions to address developmental goals. Contact us: legalservices@iaww.org

 

 

xi) IAWW Youth Leadership Program: The Youth Leadership program provides the youth in the community with opportunities to acquire the necessary skills to reach their utmost potential as the leaders of tomorrow.
