IAWW supports Covid crisis

IAWW is committed to addressing the needs generated by the pandemic crises on the communities around us. It is our intent for 2020 and 2021 to support the impacted achieve health, wellbeing and stability. As COVID-19 continues to unfold, we are working hard to provide services and support for the needs being brought to our attention. These services are intended but not limited to serve our ageing adults, elder care homes, under privileged families, small businesses, healthcare facilities, health care workers and the shelters negatively impacted by COVID-19.

These are unprecedented times and this is a crisis unlike one any of us have witnessed int our lifetimes.

WE NEED AND REQUEST YOUR HELP !

IAWW has launched a fundraising campaign and invites you to participate very generously and donate to this matching gift campaign donate now . Your contribution will ensure that we continue providing essential human services to the thousands of individuals and families who turn to us for help as well as build essential bridges for our communities to thrive with pride in our home state and country.

All donations received from now till Sept 30, 2020 will be earmarked for our COVID Response Efforts. IAWW will ensure that its COVID Response Funds will go directly to community needs regardless of gender, origin, religion, or language. We hope with the community’s help, generosity, creativity and positivity, we will get through this together and will lend a critical helping hand to our community members in distress and need.

The IAWW’s Crises Care team’s Mask for the Champions Campaign has delivered 1500+ masks to Swedish Everett, Swedish Edmonds, Overlake Hospital, Providence Elder Care, Sophia Way, Angeline’s Shelter and YWCA Seattle.We will be continuing this effort to include small businesses and families with ageing adults. Many in our community may be at risk of losing jobs. Some of them will be undocumented aliens. IAWW will offer support connecting documented workers with local employers that are able to hire. IAWW will also be offering help in connecting unemployed undocumented workers with other resources of help. Please contact us at 253-234-9989 Ext 5  or email to anvioc@iaww.org.

IAWW will provide a repository of information on health insurance and health care information for families in urgent critical need and those accessing emergency care who live here part time. Please contact us at 253-234-9989 Ext 5  or email to directorcommunity@iaww.org.

IAWW will provide access to shopping, meals and other day-to-day help needed by  any stranded seniors living by themselves who reach out for help to IAWW. Please contact us at 253-234-9989 Ext 3  or email to seniorcoord@iaww.org.

Identify, verify and provide small businesses critical support, emergency financial support and mentoring.

IAWW will connect pro-bono or low-cost legal resources for immigration and travel visa related attorney consults for traveling seniors, H1 and H4 visa families via our legal clinics. IAWW is also working to provide an on-call family law legal clinic for domestic violence cases which are already on the uptick.Please contact us at 253-234-9989 Ext 5  or email to legalservices@iaww.org.

IAWW will continue to support and provide resources to the larger Indian American community to engage in various local crisis care meals efforts  for Shelters, healthcare facilities and elder Care centers.Please contact us at 253-234-9989 Ext 3  or email to seniorcoord@iaww.org.

Based on Seattle and King County Public Health recommendations and guidelines, IAWW staff and board is working remotely and practicing social distancing.

IAWW is working actively, daily to address our community needs,offering programming online(Zoom and WhatsApp) for collaboration and meetings with our community volunteers and partners for maximum collective impact.
